Betty Dradt

Betty Jo Dradt, 89, of Ashville, passed away peacefully on October 13th 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Betty was born on March 25th 1936, in Pickaway county to a small farming community and a loving family, she attended High School at what is now Teays Valley, worked at a shoe factory in Columbus where she met her future husband Walter Dradt (passed in 2016), she enjoyed her work in the nursery at church and raising her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Caring for children was her true passion. She also, cared for her older family members when she was able bodied to do so. Betty was an avid reader, who enjoyed artwork, poetry, and people watching, and loved her children above all else.

In heaven she is joining her late parents Homer and Blanche Hicks and brother Jerry (Charolette) Hicks. She is survived by her daughter Marilyn (Doug) Krivicich [Dradt], sons Mark (Cathy) and Brian (Marie) Dradt, granddaughters Charissa (Brad) Thomas, Christina Dradt, and Amanda (Logan) Dradt, great grandchildren Brandon (Shelby) Thomas, Daniel, Leah, Atlas, and Verus Dradt, and great great grandchild Jaxon Thomas.

Betty did not wish to have a viewing or memorial service, wanting to keep things simple, but the family would welcome visits and sharing the memorable stories you had with Betty. There is a small book the family is compiling with valuable memories of her to read when spreading her ashes and to have as a family keepsake.
