Betty Ruth Roark

Betty Ruth (Cade) Roark, 87, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Doctors West Hospital. Betty was born on March 6, 1937, in Pedro, Ohio, to the late Charley and Maymee (Sharp) Cade. Betty was a long-time resident of West Jefferson, Ohio, but was currently residing at the Carriage Court Senior Living in Hilliard, Ohio. In January 1963, Betty was saved, baptized, and became a faithful member of the Hickory Grove United Baptist Church, in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, and she also attended the Alder Chapel United Baptist Church in West Jefferson, Ohio. She loved going to church, spending time with her family, and working in her flowers. Betty is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Gaylord Roark, her daughter, Donetta (Junior) Brock of West Jefferson; 4 grandchildren: Jennifer (Scott) Robinson of Hilliard, Jason (Angie) Brock of Columbus, Joseph (Stacie) Shawver of South Solon, and Mariah (Jordan) Baird of West Jefferson; 11 great-grandchildren: Brody, Taylor, Dillon, Alexis, Madison, Hunter, CJ, Landen, Carliee, Hayliee, and JJ. Betty is also survived by one brother, Jim (Alma) Cade of Waverly, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Deretha Hackney; son Guy Roark; her granddaughter Amy Roark; six brothers, six sisters, and several nieces and nephews. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (Grammar), and sister. She will be truly missed by everyone. The Viewing will be at RADER-McDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. MAIN ST., WEST JEFFERSON, OHIO, 43162, THURSDAY, May 9, 2024, from 4:00 pm- 8:00 pm, where her Funeral Service will be held on FRIDAY, May 10, 2024, at 11:00 am, Elders Robert Hackney, Jon Lykins, Jimmy Lykins, and Charles Smith presiding. Burial will be in the Foster Chapel Cemetery. If anyone chooses to do so, you may contribute to an organization of your choosing in Betty’s memory.
