Charles "Chuck" Handford, age 85, of Galloway, Ohio and formerly of Uniontown, PA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 26, 2017. A veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War, Chuck received his Combat Infantry Badge, the Korean Service Medal with Bronze Service Star and a Distinguished Unit Citation. After the war, he worked for Toledo Scales before founding WAYAC Scales, Inc. Chuck was a deacon of Lincoln Baptist Church and served 14 years as Youth Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of Evangelism Explosion and served as a missionary to Haiti. Chuck loved boating at Lake Erie, was an avid Steelers fan, and loved to fish. He dearly loved playing golf with his Tuesday Group buddies at area golf courses. He was preceded in death by his son Charles Edward Handford and his daughter Terri Linn Handford McFarland. He was also preceded in death by his parents Beatrice and William E. Handford, and by his sisters Lillian Sneddon, Mary Lou Bowden and Joan Romesburg. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 61 years, Marilyn "Mardi" Handford, his grandsons William Edward (Michelle) Handford, Matthew Lawrence (Lacey) Handford and Steve (Amanda) McFarland; daughter-in-law Sara (Jeffrey) Handford Miller; his sister Nancy Handford McChesney; and his many wonderful and loving friends.
