Charles “Buck” William McComas

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charles William McComas on September 26, 2026 from West Jefferson, Ohio. Born on June 14, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio. Charles was the son of James “Pappy” Clifford McComas and Leona Marie Schleicher.

Charles served his country in the U.S. Army. Later, he worked for General Motors, where he retired in 1944.

Charles was known to many for his love of fishing and hunting.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Lucille Taylor McComas, and sister Joanne Taylor. 

Charles is survived by a wife, Helen Lampawog Ogatis. His two sons, Brett Allen (Karen) McComas, and Bart Robert (Amy) McComas. Step-daughter, “Judy” Teodelyn Ann Naverette. Grandchildren, Bradley(Jamie) McComas, Brandon(Hannah) McComas, Beth(Ben) Altfillisch, Andrew Altfillisch, Noah McComas and Matthew McComas. He had several great-granchildren. `

A graveside service will be held at Deer Creek Township Cemetery in London, Ohio at a later date.
