Clarence “Bob” “Ace” Auckerman, age 81, of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 after a brief battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on March 13, 1941 to the late John Auckerman and Elizabeth Husted Watkins. Bob was a retired Ohio State Trooper having served for 25 years and a Madison County Municipal Court Probation Officer for 13 years. He was also a Special Deputy for the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and was a United States Air Force Veteran. Bob was also a member of the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed being with his family, traveling and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Auckerman, daughters Belinda (Mark) Long of Lima, Ohio and Rhonda (Dave) DeLong of Galloway, Ohio, grandchildren Sarah (Jesse) Hardy of Elida, Ohio and Megan Long of Columbus, Ohio, great-grandchildren Julianne and Sadie Hardy, brother John Auckerman and sister Joanne, as well as several nieces and nephews, and many who lovingly referred to him as “Uncle Bob.” He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Robert Watkins, brother Eugene, sister Martha Bowling, grandparents Edward & Jane Husted and Clarence Auckerman, after whom he was named. Per Bob’s final wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service but a private gathering for his family.
