Connie H. Chakeres

Connie H. Chakeres, age 78, of Columbus, OH, passed away at home on Friday, December 4, 2020.  Born in Springfield, OH to the late Helen E. and James H. Chakeres, the family moved to Washington Court House, OH when Connie was five years old.  She graduated from Washington High School, Class of 1960 and later attended University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL.  Connie was a n associate of JC Penney Company for almost 20 years working at Westland and Tuttle Malls.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Harry Chakeres.  Connie is survived by her daughters, Jami (Jose) Cortes and Staci Turner, her grandsons Jonah (Mackaylea) Cortes, Lorenzo Cortes and Corbin Cortes, her great-grandson Kyler Cortes, sisters Sandra Chakeres and Mary Snyder, brother Michael (Josie) Chakeres, and their families.  A private family memorial service will be announced at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in her name to: The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Central Ohio Chapter-Columbus, P.O.
