Connie R. Runyon

Connie R. Runyon, age 71, of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026.

Connie was born in St. Albans, West Virginia, where she was raised, on September 10, 1954, to Kingsley Bird and Nancy Thornton Goddard. She is a college graduate of Glenville State University where she earned her bachelor's degree is 1976.  She eventually went back to school at Wright State University where she earned her master's degree in 1993.  She proudly taught second grade as "Miss Boggs" for 22 years at Norwood Elementary School.

She is preceded in death by her mom, Nancy Thornton Goddard, stepfather, George Goddard, stepmother, Nina Bird, and husband, Bruce Homer Boggs.

Connie is survived by her father, Kingsley Bird, of Fernadina Beach, FL, husband, Douglas Runyon, of West Jefferson, OH, her children, TJ Boggs, of Mesa, AZ, Chauncy Runyon, of McCuthenville, OH, Holly Runyon, of Portsmouth, OH, Seth Runyon, of Portsmouth, OH, and Kayla Runyon, of Jacksonville, NC, as well as 12 grandchildren and 2 great granchildren.

Connie loved her family, church, and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love her.

Her family would like to give a special thank you to Jen Flowers, who has been Connie's incredible caregiver over the last 9 months.

There will be a visitation and memorial service in Connie's honor on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Madison County Vineyard, 106 Olive St., London, OH, 43140. The visitation will begin at 10:00AM and end at 11:00AM for the funeral service to take place immediately following at 11:00AM. There will be a luncheon held following the service.
