David Alan Sams, 59, of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed away on May 7, 2024, after an extended illness.

David was born on December 4, 1964, to Alan and Peggy Sams in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University, obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in History and his Juris Doctorate. He gained admission to the Bar in 1991. David was also a proud member of the United States Army Reserve where he served in Special Forces. David loved the practice of law, as well as the study of history. His knowledge of military history was extensive, and he loved long political discussions.

David is survived by his parents Alan and Peggy of Spanish Fort, Alabama, his wife of 33 years, Cindy, of West Jefferson, Ohio, and his son Nathan (Taylor Williams) of Dublin, Ohio. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Andy (Elaine) Shirey, Father-in-law Stan (Pat) Shirey as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Oscar and Christine Sams, Buddy and Mary Simmons, Uncle Sonny Simmons, Aunt Shirley (Ed) Grissom, Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Frank (Dianne) Smith, and Brother-in-law, David Smith.

In honoring David's wishes cremation has taken place. Rader-McDonald-Tidd Funeral Home assisted the family.
