Don “Gene” Graves, age 86, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 at Madison Health Hospital in London, OH. Born January 11, 1930 in London, OH to the late Hoyt and Thelma Graves. Former Mayor of West Jefferson and London City Councilman. Volunteer driver for the VA. 60-year member of the Masonic Lodge #221. Retired Lineman from Columbus Southern/ AEP and a 50-year member of IBEW. Preceded in death by brother, Guy Graves; sisters, Eileen Campbell and June Ann Chenault; grandson, Tony Braithwaite. Survived by wife of 44 years, Karen; daughters, Brenda Braithwaite, Joyce (Jim) Ashdown, and Toni Graves; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Friends may call Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the RADER-MCDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. Main St. in West Jefferson, OH, where funeral service will be Wednesday, 11 a.m. Interment Somerford Twp. Cemetery, London, OH. In lieu of flowers, family encourages memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Madison County Cancer Society.
