Donna Jean Fullen, 71, of Springfield, was laid to rest on Monday, October 13th, 2025, surrounded by love and family holding her hands. Donna was an incredibly loving grandmother, mother, friend, and woman of Christ. Her love for Christ sustained her and her life was truly a reflection of God's unwavering and unconditional love.
Born January 29th, 1954, in Circleville Ohio to Charles and Marjorie Fullen, Donna was a very strong and hard working woman. She helped her parents on the farm where she found her love for tractor pulling and raising horses and mules. She was also a very loving, caring, and nurturing mother. She proudly raised her two daughters and was the most loving grandmother to their children and her great grandchildren. Above all she lived a life devoted to Jesus. Donna always had strong faith and lived by that. Donna followed Christ and she guided many, many, others to follow him as well.
Donna now rests in peace with her grandmother (Corda Ownes), her parents (Charles and Marjorie Fullen), and her heavenly born grandchildren. Her loving legacy now continues through her children (Mamie McDonald and Paula Pitzer), her grandchildren (Ivy, Shelby, Chico, Ashton, and December), great grandchildren (Madilyn and Miya), and siblings (Doug, Kenny, and Cathy). She also held a special place in her heart for Jeremiah (Paula's husband) David (Mamie’s husband), David’s children (Gaige, Jorden, Tristin, Tanner, and Baylee) David’s grandchildren (Legend,Whyate, Rykin, Winsten, and Loralie) Jeremiah's mother (Linda Pitzer), her amazing community at the Springfield Assisted Living Facility, her Christ found family through Lighthouse Tabernacle of Urbana and many others.
Donna entered into the presence of her Savior peacefully, surrounded by her family and held in love. She was not alone in her final moments. Her hands were held, her spirit comforted, and her heart full of faith. At this time, there will be no public viewing or funeral service. A private celebration of life will be held by her immediate family at a later date. Donna was deeply loved and lived her life with joy, compassion, and unwavering faith in Jesus. For those who wish to honor her memory, you are invited to celebrate her in your own meaningful way. Through prayer, worship, sharing a memory, or simply choosing love and kindness, as she always did. Her family is grateful for the love and support shown to them during this time.
Her daughter Mamie would like to share that this past year, Donna truly fell in love with her first love, Jesus Christ. And as her family reflects on her passing, Paula can’t help but to think of her saying, “Praise the Lord anyhow (with a laugh) I’m okay, Jesus is taking care of me now,” with that mix of faith, love, peace, and joy that could only be Donna.
Donna’s life was a testament to God’s love and grace. She will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. We know she is now dancing in heaven, her red nails shining, embraced by her Savior and welcomed with open arms. Even though she is no longer here with us, she will always be in our hearts, and we will still be loved by her.
