Eldon E Thompson

Eldon Eugene Thompson, age 91, of West Jefferson, Ohio, died peacefully on May 20, 2018. Eldon, born December 27, 1926, was a beloved father and grandfather. He enjoyed taking his family on trips to all around the United States and Canada. Eldon was a semi-truck driver by trade whom retired after 41 years. He was well known amongst his community and had a knack for fixing anything that was broken. Eldon was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Jefferson; a WWII Veteran; Golden Glove Boxer; and a 5-year Commander and lifetime member of the West Jefferson American Legion Post 201. His family and friends will always remember him as a man who was ornery, full of life, and for his jokes. Eldon is survived by his wife, Charlotte Elaine Thompson; sister, Olive (Harold) Everett; brother Thurman (Lois Ann) Thompson; sister, Clarissa (Milton) Colton; daughter, Miriam (Richard) Thompson-Bobo; son, Douglas Thompson; son, Mark (Kimberly) Thompson; Grandchildren—Gregory Greenwood; Alyssa Mason; Andrea (Luke) Massey; Nicole Bolin; Amos Thompson; Amanda (Nathan) Thompson; Emily (Josh) Thompson; Rachael (Austin) Collins; Great Grandchildren—Kyle, Kody, and Kloe Mason; Kimberly Warnock; Chase, Ryan, and Addison Massey; and Natalie Thompson; those who he couldn’t chase away—Ken Knight; Katrina Bobo; Judy Wihl; and Anita Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Oliver Wayne Thompson; mother, Mary Alberta Carsey; son, Terry Tekoa Thompson; brother, Clarence Wayne Thompson; sister Glenna Jane Thompson; brother, Joe Harold Thompson; brother, Charles Edward Thompson; and grandchildren, Thomas and Dominque Thompson, who died in infancy. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Rader-McDonald Funeral Home, 1355 W. Main St., West Jefferson, Ohio 43162. The Funeral will be held at 11 A.M. with visitation one hour prior to service, Saturday, May 26, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 686 W. Jefferson Kiousville Road SE, West Jefferson, OH.
