Gary W. Perry

d. March 22, 2017

Gary W. Perry, aged 70 years, beloved husband of Jean M. Perry, was carried home by the angels on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. He left this world gently at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Gary was a student at Central High School and a graduate of Pleasant View High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force (USAF); a 33-year (retired) employee of General Motors/Fisher Body; former Chairman and long-time member of the United Auto Workers (UAW), Local 969; Sergeant-at-Arms and Board Member of The London Recovery Project; and a member of Capital City Lodge #656 F&A.M. Gary was preceded in death by Paternal Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Perry and Maternal Grandparents, Thomas and Lizzie Seymour; devoted parents, Chester and Evelyn Perry; Shirley Mae Vines and Infant Daughter, Stephanie Lynn; Special Cousins, Sharon Comeans, Darrel Gene and Lenny Dearth; Nephew, Robert Seymour, Jr., and many loving Aunts and Uncles. He is survived by the love of his life, his Wife, Jean M. Perry; cherished sister, Trina (Jeff) Robertson; Sons: Scott (Joann) Perry, Trevor (Mandi) Perry, and Jaffe Wilde; Daughters: Tessa Valandingham, Chloe Wilde, and Shirley (Aaron) Hickle; special Uncle and Aunt, Gerald and Emmy Seymour; Nieces: Jenae Freeze and Dawn (Brent) Knight; Nephews: Ryan (Angela) Freeze and Curtis (Lacee) Freeze; and Special Friends: Tom (Janice) Knox, Robert (Pamela) Gossman, and Dale McNeal. He also leaves behind innumerable friends, most of whom he and his adoring wife “adopted” as Family. He leaves behind many Grandchildren: Abbie, Aidhan, Bella, Briana, Ellie, Jessaley, Kylar, Liam, Morgan, Taelynn, and Tyler. He also leaves many Great-Nieces and Nephews: Addie, Alaina, Deke, Gabe, Hunter, Osias, Staley and Wallace. His memory will live strong in their lives, given new life in photos and creating a beautiful tapestry of Family History. Gary’s pride and joy was found in helping others and giving of himself; especially to children and those in need. He will be remembered for being a “dad” to anyone who needed one - regardless of age or circumstance. He was stern when we needed it and gentle when we were hurting. He will be missed by so many, but he has left an interminable legacy of Love. He would ask nothing in return, other than for us to pass that legacy on. You will be missed. Family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00p.m. SUNDAY at the RADER-MCDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 West Main Street, West Jefferson, Ohio 43162 (614)-879-9222 where his Funeral Service will be held 1:00p.m. MONDAY, MARCH 27, 2017 with Pastor Kathy Jenkins, officiating.
