James R. Hastings

James R. Hastings, born July 6, 1964, Columbus, Ohio. Passed away Friday, January 30, 2026, after a brief blood infection with complications, and battling a form of bone cancer.

Survived by sister Loraine Jones ( Mike McDonough), Aunt Kathy (Geno) Warner, Aunt Judy (Dan) Isel, Niece Jordan Outhwaite, many, many cousins, and very close friends Mary and Chuck Humphrey. Preceded in death by Father James E. Hastings, Mother Patricia L. Byrne, Stepmother Beverly Hastings, and Brother Michael R. Hastings.

Jim was a graduate of Westland High School Class of 1982, and a very successful graduate from THE Ohio State University where he then pursued his career with Columbia Gas from there on.

Jim was a huge Buckeyes fan and very avid sports fanatic. He was a very caring and giving person, often creating lasting memories with those closest to him.

Funeral services to be held Friday, February 6, 2026, RADER-McDONALD-TIDD, 1355 W. Main St., West Jefferson, OH. 43162. Visitation beginning at 11:00 am until 12:00 pm followed by the service beginning 12:00 pm.
