Janice Ruth Niepert, age 81 of Columbus, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021. Janice was born January 15, 1940 to Helen and Park Crocker in Wadsworth, Ohio. She graduated class of 1958 Highland High School, in Medina, Ohio, obtained a B.S. in Education from Baldwin Wallace College and later held a Masters in Library Science. Jan retired from Southwest Public Libraries where she thrived for over 30 years with great leadership, knowledge and kindness to all as head of the Westland Area Library. Jan was quietly effective and a dedicated leader in the community. Involved with the Lincoln Village Women’s Club and a founding member of WABA, she was a role model and respected by countless peers and others she inspired. A woman of great style, dignity and class, she was a loving, sweet, generous wife and mother, proud grandmother, loyal friend and truly one of a kind.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers George and Leland Crocker. Jan leaves behind her adoring husband of 61 years, Robert, cherished daughters Jennifer (Don) Foster and Erica (Cris) Thatcher, her wonderful grandsons, Griffin, Ian, Trey, Sean and great grandson, Lake. Tremendously missed, not only by us, but Jan also leaves behind many caring Sisters in law, cousins, nieces, nephews and passionately loved cats. Jan made all of these lives special and better every day. We welcome family and friends to celebrate her life at RADER-MCDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. Main St., West Jefferson, Ohio 43162 from 2-4pm on SATURDAY, AUGUST 14, 2021 with a Memorial Service following at 4:00pm. SATURDAY.
