Jean Messer

Jean (Woods) Messer, 81, daughter of Harry and Ada (Courtright) Woods, passed away peacefully, September 6, 2018 at home after a long battle with illness. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John H. Messer, son: James Messer, brothers: Robert, Harry, and James Woods, sisters: Mary (Wayne) Frisby, Rose (Dana) Zarley, and Ann Woods, brother in law: Walter Richard Zeitler, and niece: Lorene Zarey. She is survived by her children: Catherine (William), John A. Messer (Sandy), Janet Messer, and William (Lora) Messer; her sisters: Betty Zeitler and Sonja (Joe) Econ; sister in laws: Elfrieda Woods, and Janet Woods. She is also survived by four wonderful grandchildren, David (Danielle), Annette, Hannah Messer and Samuel Messer; and two great-grandchildren, Mariah and Leland, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jean attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Sedalia, Ohio. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Ohio Health Hospice, and the staff at Davida Dialysis Clinic, as well as to Jeans primary caregivers William, Lora, and Janet Messer. Your hard work and dedication have been truly appreciated. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. The funeral will follow visitation at 1:00 PM at RADER-McDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL 1355 W. MAIN ST., WEST JEFFERSON, OH 43162. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, Ohio.
