Jerry C. Fenton Jr., age 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at home, on Saturday, September 27, 2025. He was born on June 12, 1936, in Crum, West Virginia, to the late Mildred and George Fenton.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and George Fenton, brothers, Larry and David Fenton, and his late wife, Judy Fenton.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia A. Fenton, his children, Jerry Scott (Summer) Fenton, Perry (Jennifer) Fenton, Melissa (John) Grcic, Cindy (Scott) Notestine, Jack (Brenda) Bowshier and John (Carla) Bowshier, as well as 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Jerry graduated from Hilliards High School in 1954. After high school, he enlisted in the Army National Guard, where he was a sharpshooter. He was a barber, but also retired from Sears Distribution Center, Honda, and Neverman Construction.
He loved to spend his free time golfing with his wife, Pat. He also loved cheering on his favorite football teams, the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. As a former Hilliards High School baseball player, he also enjoyed watching his favorite baseball team, the Cincinnati Reds. Jerry absolutely loved his dogs and all living animals. He also loved his people and always did a good job of making others feel important with a compliment and a smile. Jerry was very active in his church and was dearly loved by so many. His wife Pat, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought him so much joy.
Jerry loved Jesus, his country, and he loved President Trump. He and his wife, Pat, absolutely loved their life together and lived it to the absolute fullest. He will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love him.
A visitation and funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the First Baptist Church, 686 West Jefferson-Kiousville Rd., West Jefferson, Ohio, 43162. The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and end at 1:00 PM for the funeral service to follow immediately at 1:00 PM. Following the service, we will go in procession to Hampton Cemetery. Friends and family are invited back to the church after the burial for a luncheon.
