Jodi spent nearly the entirety of her adult life at The Ohio State University. She earned her BA in Psychology in 1988 and was a lifetime member of the Alumni Association. She was an avid Buckeye fan and loved rooting for the women’s basketball and football teams in particular. Jodi recently retired on February 29, 2024, after being employed at The Ohio State University since 1990 spending the last 26 years with the Office of Advancement primarily as a Prospect Research Consultant. Working and supporting OSU fundraising efforts to battle cancer gave her much joy and fulfillment. She was recently recognized as a founding contributor and 32-year donor to The Stephanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research since its inception in 1998.
Jodi’s love of music led her to an active membership role in the Columbus Women’s Chorus. Her chorus family was near and dear to her.
She loved the time she spent with her family and friends as evident by her contagious smile and laughter/’snorts’. She was especially filled with much joy playing with her beloved great-nephew Graham and great-niece Parker Ann. Her other loves were gardening, cooking, and baking but mostly having her toes in the sand on her many beach vacations.
She is preceded in death by her mother Sharon Pinney.
Jodi married the love of her life, Lisa Riebel, on May 12, 2017, in addition to being survived by her wife, and father Charles (Barbara) Pinney, she is survived by her brothers: Jason Pinney, and Taylor Brookhart; niece: Amanda (Jeremy) Majoros; nephews: Garrett Strauss, Evan (Erin) Strauss, Mitchell Riebel, Stephen and Petey Newman; great-nieces & nephews: Graham & Parker Ann Strauss, and Alexis Majoros; special cousin Michele “Sis” Newman; also survived by her Sister-in-law Tammy (Bill) Strauss, and Brother-in-law Tim (Helen) Riebel; many cousins, friends, relatives and her OSU family of friends.
