John A. Hanna

John A Hanna, 72, of Columbus, passed away peacefully with his loving companion and soulmate by his side on Monday, August 10, 2026. Born in Port Allegheny, PA, on November 19, 1953, he was the son of the late Donald L. Hanna Sr. and Margaret Finch. 

John graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1974 and retired from IBEW Local Union 71 after 26 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed music, playing the drums, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, boating, and playing horseshoes. John loved nothing more than camping at “The Farm” and being surrounded by family and friends. John had a generous spirit and gave to many charities close to his heart and family. 

John is survived by his loving companion and soulmate for over 50 years, Pamela L. Hanna, and their four children, Brian (Tigist) Hanna, Neil Hanna, Amber (Nathan) Landry, and Dustin Hanna. Six grandsons: Isaiah, Adam and Nolan Hanna, Walden, Sylvan and Marshall Landry. Six siblings: Leslie (Denny) Marsh, Don Hanna, Leah (Lynn) Ongley, Helen (John) Calvin, Ann Hunt, and John Finch. Additionally surviving are numerous nephews and nieces. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings: Joey Hanna, Penny McIntyre, Robbie Hanna, Ronald Shaneen, Bob Hanna, and Kathy Hanna. 

There will be a Graveside Service held for immediate family at Deer Creek Township Cemetery in Lafayette, Ohio, where John will be laid to rest. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
