John Leo Heise, age 90, of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed away at Doctors Hospital on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 1:17p.m. Born in London, Ohio to the late Helen and Harry Heise, John was a graduate of Midway High School, Class of 1953. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force and the Ohio Air National Guard for 27 years, John served on active duty in France during the Berlin Crisis. He was an accomplished pilot who loved to fly. John retired from Cardinal Foods after a 44-year career as a truck driver, driving over two million miles without an accident. He was also a 20-gallon blood donor for the American Red Cross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Doug Heise and his sister Lulu Dale Heise. He is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Gloria Heise, his siblings: Geraldine McDonald, Paul (Twylia) Heise, Bill (Becky) Heise and Beverly Gay Heise, several nieces and nephews, his step-children: Theresa Williamson, Floyd (Rose) Muncey, Jonathan (Judy) Fitchpatrick, Cathy (Steve) Starkey, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, other loving relatives, friends, and neighbors.
Family will receive friends from 11:00a.m.-12:00p.m. MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2025 at the RADER-MCDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 West Main Street, West Jefferson, OH 43162 (614)-879-9222 where his Funeral Service will follow the visitation and begin at 12:00 NOON MONDAY. Burial with USAF Honors will follow at Range Township Cemetery, Midway, OH.
