"Johnny"

October 8, 1960 — August 30, 2026

John Gino Mirolo, known to family and friends as Johnny, passed away on August 30, 2026 at The Ohio State University Medical Center, surrounded by his family at 65 years of age. Johnny was born on October 8, 1960 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, to Gino John Mirolo and Garnet Sue Mirolo (Slone).

Johnny was a graduate of Jonathan Alder High School, Class of 1980. In his younger years, he was a member of the FFA and began his working life grinding crankshafts before joining Honda of America Manufacturing, where he built a career spanning 30 years — working his way to team leader. In his post-retirement life he could be found working with his lifelong friend Tony Fry either farming or working on home renovation projects.

Johnny met the love of his life, Crystal Ann Mirolo (Creamer), when she left him a note tucked inside his hamburger at a McDonald's drive-through — the beginning of a love story he loved to tell. Together they built a life and a family, and Crystal remained his devoted wife until his passing.

Johnny lived a full and curious life. He treasured time spent with family and friends, whether at the dinner table over a favorite meal or cruising the local car lots. He had a lifelong fascination with the newest technology, from computers to automobiles, and took just as much joy tinkering as he did learning about how to solve a problem. An avid history buff, Johnny loved exploring places of historical significance — from the Biltmore Estate to the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier — he could talk for hours about World War II, sharing his knowledge and family history where his father had played a part.

Above all, Johnny believed that listening, more than speaking, was the truest way to get to know someone — a philosophy he carried through every relationship in his life.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Crystal Ann Mirolo (Creamer); his son, Nathan Mirolo, daughter Alisha Pryor and her husband John Pryor, along with his granddaughter who he adored, Eleanor Pryor; and his sisters, Lisa Mirolo, Patty Oxyer, and Pam Knapp along with numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gino John Mirolo and Garnet Sue Mirolo (Slone), and his brother, Jackie Mirolo.

Service Information:

Visitation will be held FRIDAY from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at RADER-MCDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 West Main Street, West Jefferson, Ohio 43162 (614)-879-9222. His funeral service will follow on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2026 at 10:00 AM, also at Rader-McDonald-Tidd Funeral Home. Johnny will be laid to rest at Paint Township Cemetery, London, Ohio.
