Joseph Michael Vacheresse, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, entered into eternal life on Monday, December 29, 2025.
From the moment he received his diagnosis, Joe was surrounded by his family. We are all thankful for the exceptional care he received at OSU's James Cancer Hospital and Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital.
Joe was a lifelong resident of West Jefferson, Ohio, and a devoted parishioner of Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church. He learned the craft of bricklaying from his uncle, Bill Vacheresse, and dedicated his working life as a proud member of Local #55, Bricklayers Union.
He was the father of two beautiful daughters, Dominique Vacheresse of West Jefferson and Cecilia Binns (Maurice) of Marysville, and the grandfather of Tommy, Ava, Christian, and Cameron.
Joe was proud and grateful to be the son of Thomas Vacheresse (deceased) and Kathleen Vacheresse, also from West Jefferson. He was a beloved sibling to Thomas Vacheresse (deceased), Vincent (Robin) Vacheresse of Stoutsville, Ohio; Mary (Mike) Culbertson of West Jefferson, Ohio; Patricia (Bruce) Belinky of Land O’ Lakes, Florida; David (Eileen) Vacheresse of Toledo, Ohio; and Eric (Beth) Vacheresse of West Jefferson, Ohio. Forever grateful to be a “Vacheresse,”
He loved and was deeply loved by his nieces and nephews: Rose Vacheresse, Eric Vacheresse, Dowler Vacheresse, Michael Culbertson, Maryann Troyer, Maria Samons, Erika Watkinson, Josiah Vacheresse, John-Caleb Vacheresse, Isaac Vacheresse, Joshua Snyder, Brandon Snyder, Anna Henderson, Nichalas Snyder, Susie Vacheresse, and Kimberlyn Allen, along with many great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father and eldest brother, Joseph was preceded in death by numerous uncles and aunts. He is survived by his aunts: Susie Vacheresse (Johnstown, Ohio), Katie Essen (Nashport, Ohio), Theresa Taylor, and his uncles, Ronald Martin (Circleville, Ohio) and Michael Conner (Hendersonville, North Carolina).
Joe will be profoundly missed by all who love him.
Eternal rest grant unto Joseph, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
