Lena Mae Bowman

Lena Mae (Shamblin) Bowman of West Jefferson, OH went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 28, 2019. Lena was 95 years of age, born on January 30, 1924, the daughter of Clyde and Mary Shamblin. Through her many years, Lena enjoyed camping, shopping and time spent with her family. She also enjoyed watching Ohio State football and Jim Thome play baseball. Lena worked at several jobs including 27 years at the Village Office in West Jefferson. At age 95, she has enjoyed a Good, Long and Happy life. Lena was a member of The First Baptist Church of West Jefferson. She is survived by her sister Joan Ghrist of Monroeville, OH, son Ernest C. “Sonny” Bowman and Ilah Meddles of Prospect, OH, grandchildren: Gretchen Wysocki of Elyria, OH and Kirsten Wall of Elyria, OH, her six great-grandchildren, also surviving is her niece Jane Chapman, of Columbus, OH and her nephew Jim Ghrist of Jeffersontown, KY. Lena was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ernest Bowman, Jr., her daughter Deborah A. Williams and son-in-law George Williams, grandson Nicholas Williams, sister Helen McCumber, brother Robert Shamblin and her nephew Keith Shamblin.
