Linda Renee Clark (Lynn)
Linda Renee (Rodgers) Clark, lovingly known as Lynn, age 71, of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Doctors West Hospital.
Lynn was born on May 21, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio, to Robert William Rodgers and Sandra Sue (McFarland) Rodgers. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring aunt, and a dear friend to many. Above all, Lynn was someone who genuinely loved people. She had a way of making connections, sharing a laugh, and making others feel welcome, whether they had known her for years or had just met her.
Throughout her life, Lynn enjoyed a variety of careers and experiences, always bringing her caring nature and dedication to everything she did. She worked with the Ohio Savings and Loan League as an apprentice in retirement accounts, and later as a UPS dispatcher, where she developed a special fondness for her drivers. She also worked in the Standardized Patient Program at both OSU and Riverside Hospitals, a position she took great pride in and approached with compassion and dedication. For many years, she also enjoyed working at the Board of Elections.
Lynn never stayed still for long. Outside of her regular work, she enjoyed selling Mary Kay, serving as a Webelos leader for Troop 275, and being an auxiliary member of Eagles 2252. She found joy in being involved, helping others, and staying connected to the people and organizations that meant so much to her.
Those who knew Lynn will fondly remember her love of teapots and her willingness to share a cup of tea with an old friend or someone she had just met. A conversation over tea was always a welcome opportunity to connect. She loved all kinds of music, with a special place in her heart for The Beatles. She adored Lily of the Valley flowers and proudly displayed a tattoo on her back that was uniquely her.
Lynn also had a wonderful sense of adventure and a love for traveling. In her younger days, she was known to hop on a plane to San Francisco just to have lunch with a friend and return home the very same day! That was Lynn—spontaneous, adventurous, and always ready to make a memory. She also shared a special love with her beloved dogs, Scarlett, her Chow, and Cleo, her Bull Terrier. We can only imagine the joyful reunion waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge.
More than anything, Lynn's greatest legacy is the love she shared with her family and friends. Her warmth, generous spirit, lively personality, and love of life will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind countless memories, stories, and moments that will continue to bring smiles and comfort to those who love her. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Lynn is survived by her loving husband, David M. Clark of West Jefferson, whom she married on May 12, 1984; her two sons, Ellis (Zachary) Clark and Matthew D. Clark, both of West Jefferson, Ohio; her stepmother, Nancy (Campbell) Rodgers of Kentucky; three brothers, George (Maggie) Sherman III of Virginia, David (Stacy) Sherman of Montana, and Rob Rodgers of Kentucky; three nephews, Josh (Kristine) Wright of Marysville, Ohio, Joseph Kinkead of Columbus, Ohio, and George Sherman IV of Virginia; six nieces, Amanda (Luis) Olivas of California, Clarissa Sherman of Virginia, Candy Sherman of Maine, Mariah Sherman of Maryland, Charlotte (John) Larue of Virginia, Rachel Kinkead of Columbus, Ohio, and Izabelle Sherman of Virginia; several great- nieces and great-nephews; and three sisters-in-law, Mindy (Ed) Hartley, Robin (Darryl) Bauer, and Beth Clark; and brother-in-law Michael Kinkead.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Ida Mae Rodgers, Thelma Ann McFarland (Walker), Ula Sherman (Denune), and Lois Campbell; grandfathers, Clinton N. McFarland and George Arthur Sherman; father, Robert William Rodgers; stepfather, George Sherman II; mother, Sandra Sherman (McFarland); sister, Becky Kinkead (Rodgers); and parents-in-law, Floyd and Margaret (Beck) Clark of Springfield, Ohio.
