Lloyd Harold Little

July 7, 1940 — May 21, 2026

West Jefferson, Ohio

Lloyd Harold Little passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, after a brief illness.

Lloyd was born on July 7, 1940, in Virgie, Kentucky, to Marion Junior and Sybil Little. He was the oldest of eight children.

Lloyd loved sports, especially the University of Kentucky basketball. He was both the Wildcats’ biggest fan and their biggest critic. His love of sports extended to his children, and he spent many years coaching his sons’ and daughter’s youth sports teams, leaving a lasting impact on many young people.

He loved being on the water — water skiing, fishing, and especially spending time in Canada. He also enjoyed caring for his yard and “puttering” in his garage. Lloyd was an avid golf fan as well.

After graduating, Lloyd moved north to Indiana and later Ohio, where he spent most of his career as a truck driver. He worked for several trucking companies before becoming an owner-operator during the final 15 years of his career.

Above all else, Lloyd dearly loved his family and was incredibly proud of each of them.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jerry Ann Little; five siblings; and many other cherished relatives.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Bonnie Alvarez Little; his three children, Mike (Teresa) Little, Kellie (Kyle) Wolfe, and Jeff (Kathy) Little; and his beloved grandchildren: Tara Rouse, Jessika (Steve) Ramsey, Mandy (Josh) Jonas, Madison (Jacob) Schafer, Erika (Blake) Thompson, Ryan (Megan) Wolfe, and Amber Little. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, and two siblings, Peggy Burnsworth and Sue (Larry) Mullins.

Lloyd was also dearly loved by his wife’s children, Michelle Mills, Michael (Naomi) Alvarez, and Kendra (Dean) Holmes.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the many wonderful people who ministered to them during the final days of Lloyd’s life, including Pastor Dale George of Cypress Church and Chaplain Don from OhioHealth. They would also like to thank Dr. Scott McKeon from palliative care, who was a tremendous source of comfort and guidance.

A celebration of Lloyd’s life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lloyd’s memory to Cypress Church, Alton-Darby Creek Road, Galloway, Ohio.

Finally, Lloyd’s children would like to thank their father for teaching them the value of giving quietly, without recognition or expectation of anything in return. He may not have been rich in material things, but his generosity of spirit will live on in all who knew and loved him.
