Mary Lou Hix

Mary Lou Hix, 91, passed away on September 25, 2026. She was born on April 16, 1935, in Circleville, Ohio, to Robert and Margaret Moore.

Mary Lou was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family and the memories they shared. Known for her independent nature and love of Tennessee Walking Horses, Mary Lou lived life in her own way and had a passion for the things that brought her joy.

For many years, Mary Lou worked as a school bus driver for the Madison-Plains school system, where she played a part in the daily lives of generations of students and families.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russell Hix; her sons, Michael Hix, Donald Hix, and Robert Hix; and her brother, Robert Moore.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Pam) Hix; daughter-in-law, Rea Jean Hix; sister-in-law, Linda (Jim) Blankenship; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other loved ones.

Funeral Service:

Visitation hours will be held Monday, October 5, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at RADER-McDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. Main Street, West Jefferson, Ohio 43162.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lilly Chapel United Methodist Church.
