Mary Parsons

Mary T. Parsons, of London, Ohio died on Thursday, May 5, 2022, age 84 years. She was born at home on August 21, 1937 in Plattsburg, Ohio to Myrtle and Lawrence Thompson, Sr., who preceded her in death, along with sisters, Phyllis Joan Colley, Sue Thompson Wolf, Jeanne Thompson Suplizio, and brother William Frank Thompson.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.  She was a keyboard musician who enjoyed writing songs for her family and also enjoyed arranging flowers and working in her yard.  Her love of her Catholic faith was graciously shared with her family and anyone who met her.  She loved Our Lord and had a special devotion to His Blessed Mother.  Mary met Ralph “Sonny” Parsons in London and they married in October, 1953.  Mary was a homemaker, and mother of three children.  She served as a room mother, was involved in Ss. Simon & Jude Parish Council, delivered Meals on Wheels and served as President of PTO in her younger years.  Mary enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

Mary is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ralph “Sonny” Parsons II, children:  Ralph “Chip” Parsons III (Meschelle), Janet Lohr and Julie Walker (Harold).  Grandchildren:  Aprile Riggs (Joe), Ralph “Tab” Parsons IV (Leigh), Nicholas Lohr, Danielle Myers (Andy), Jesse Lohr, Catherine Lohr, Eric Walker (Jessica) and Daniel Walker, and twenty-two great-grandchildren.  Brother Lawrence “Larry” K. Thompson, Jr. (Tim Knight) and her Aunt Shirley Baldwin.

Family will receive friends from 9:00a.m.-11:00a.m. TUESDAY, MAY 10, 2022 at SS. SIMON AND JUDE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 9350 High Free Pike, West Jefferson, OH 43162 where her Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation and begin at 11:00a.m. TUESDAY with The Reverend Mark Ghiloni, Celebrant.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, West Jefferson. 

If they choose, friends may make memorial contributions to SS. Simon and Jude Church, in Mary’s memory.
