Patricia Jean Brofford, age 88, returned home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 31st. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 5, 1938 to the late Richard and Mildred (Boyd) Storts.
Pat married Richard "Pete" Brofford, the love of her life, on August 28, 1953, and they shared 72 loving years together. Their unwavering love and affection for one another was a true constant throughout their lives as they faced both life's joys and sorrows. Together they raised five children and passed along their love to nine grandchildren, many great- and great-great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.
A life-long learner driven by curiosity, Pat loved to read National Geographic magazines, travel (especially the Southwest of the United States), explore museums and libraries, and listen to music. At the core of her heart was a passion for her children and her family, always giving of herself in order to support the ones that she loved. She believed everyone was deserving of kindness, and she shared that kindness with family, friends, and strangers alike. Anyone could talk to Pat, and she would always listen.
In addition to her parents, Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Pete" Brofford; her children Joel Brofford Sr. and Tina Jean Rogers; grandchild Matthew Brofford; siblings Richard Storts and Ronald Storts; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pat is survived by her children, Mark Brofford, Shelby Brofford, and Aerika (Dale) Wilkerson; grandchildren Joel (Amanda) Brofford Jr, Krista Brofford, Joshua Brofford, Becky Brofford, Kelly Rogers, Williams Rogers, Elisha (Ricardo) Riddle, and Janie Riddle; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; siblings Mary Ann (Gary) Dumeney, Robert Storts, Mickey (Gary) Byas, Jack (Kaye) Storts; countless nieces, nephews, and friends.
