Sylvia Ponthieux

Sylvia Wilma Ponthieux, of Plain City, OH., formerly Oak Lawn, IL  passed away peacefully at home at the age of 87 on Sunday, December 26, 2021.

Born on December 20, 1934, in Kaukauna, WI, to the late Irma  Finke and Fredrick Finke.

She married Raymond Wilson Ponthieux on June 29, 1957, and for 35 years they shared life together.  For most of those 35 years, Sylvia worked outside the home part-time during holiday seasons until going full-time as her children got older. She devoted her life to meeting the needs of her husband and four children.  

She was preceded in death by husband Raymond Wilson, grandson Jimmy, her parents and siblings (Victor and Richard), and sister-in-law Fay Finke.  She is survived by her children and their families.  Corine (Jim) Mindigo of Urbana, OH, Laura (Leonard) Holstein of Johnstown, OH, Joanna (Mike) McKinster of Plain City, OH, Raymond (Danielle) of Mount Sterling, OH.  She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren..

The family extends a special thanks to Joanna for the tender and loving care of mom for the past three years.

Graveside service date and time will be announced. And will be held at Sunset Cemetery 6959 W Broad St, Galloway, OH 43119. She will be interred alongside her husband Raymond following a private graveside service.
