Celebrating the Life of Thomas Sheridan Jette
Thomas Sheridan Jette, 72, of London, Ohio, departed this life in his home on July 5, 2026, after a dignified 15-year struggle with Frontal Temporal Dementia (F.T.D.). Tom’s life journey began on Oct. 10, 1953, in Washington C.H., Ohio, born to Malcolm and Betty Jette. Tom lived most of his childhood on a street, where as a teenager he met the love of his life, Kathy Entrekin. He graduated from Washington Sr. High School in 1972, and in 1974, the high school sweethearts married, beginning a beautiful 52-year partnership filled with love, devotion, teamwork, and many shared adventures. That same year, Tom began a dedicated career with American Electric Power as a communications technician. He worked for 37 years before earning his well-deserved retirement.
Tom and Kathy were blessed with three beautiful children. Tom enjoyed the simple, active life they all had built together. A truly talented self-taught do-it-yourselfer, Tom successfully renovated five homes over the years. His pride and joy was the last one, a historic two-story brick, built in 1865, nestled on ten quiet acres. Tom spent countless hours in his barn, restoring antiques, fixing this and that, and enthusiastically collecting just about anything- whether it was something to treasure or just a piece of junk. He loved to read, especially Stephen King, and he developed a passion for exploring genealogy. Football was his choice of sports. He was a devoted Browns fan and season ticket holder for 11 years. He was also a Buckeye fan and attended many games with his work buddy, Keith.
Shortly after his retirement in 2011, F.T.D. crept into his life. This devastating disease slowly took away the loving husband, father, and friend everyone had known. It could not, however, erase the legacy of the life he had built. Tom was not a religious man, but he did hold a strong, peaceful belief that life does not end after death.
His love and memory will forever be cherished by his beloved wife, Kathy, his children, Jimi and Leigh Adams Jette, Heather and Luke Keplinger, Jason and Gina Gorsek Jette. He also leaves four beloved grandchildren, James, Addie, Wyatt, and Braden. His siblings include Steve, Jenny, and Herbie Jones, Kelley, and Jack Higginbothem, and Shelley and Steve Gruetter. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Candace.
To honor Tom’s wishes, we will not be having a traditional funeral service but rather a casual gathering for family and friends. Please join us on SATURDAY, JULY 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Rader-McDonald-Tidd Funeral Home,1355 W. Main St., West Jefferson, Ohio, 43162. Tom will be laid to rest in the Fairfield Township Cemetery, close to the family home.
