Wathena P. Castle

Wathena P. Castle, age 86, of London, Ohio, formerly a long-time resident of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Bluebird Retirement Community.  Born in Winchester, Kentucky, Wathena married Jim Castle in 1957.  The last surviving of ten children born to the late John and Berle Pelfrey, Wathena was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her beloved husband Jim Castle, and her grandson Shane Brintlinger.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Lonnie and Jolene Castle, granddaughter Abigale Castle, grandson Mitch Whaley, granddaughter-in-law Katie Jean Brintlinger, her many nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Almond (Jerri) Castle, sister-in-law Ruby Castle and the many loving members of the Pelfrey and Castle Families.  Wathena was an active, long-time member of the Midwest Cloggers and was a faithful member of Community Freewill Baptist Church of West Jefferson.  She loved to travel both throughout the United States and internationally and enjoyed cruises.  Family will welcome friends from 11:00a.m.-1:00p.m. TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2021 at the RADER-MCDONALD-TIDD FUNERL HOME, 1355 West Main Street, West Jefferson, Ohio 43162 (614)-879-9222 where her Funeral Service will follow the visitation and begin at 1:00p.m. TUESDAY with Pastor Jerry Newman, officiating.  Burial will follow at Alton Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in her name to: Kindred Hospice, 540 Officenter Place, Unit #100, Columbus, OH 43230 www.kindredhealthcare.com.  Please visit www.radermcdonaldtiddfuneralhome.com to share your favorite memories of Wathena and to send your condolences to her family.
